As you have probably discovered there are a lot of things that can go wrong when you are trying to hit a straight drive. However here is one thing you can check for yourself!

If you strike the ball in the correct place, here roughly opposite your left knee if you are playing off your left foot, you should find that that is going to go straight.

You might find though that you are having a day where everything is clipping the side wall! It is hitting the front wall and then going into the side wall. It could mean that you are hitting the ball too late. If you take anything slightly late it is going to go too far to the right on the front wall and it will clip out from the side wall back towards the middle.

Equally if you are hitting the ball slightly early it is going to pull the ball back towards the middle, back towards the 'T' and you are likely to give away a stroke.

So just check if you are having a bad day with your drives, where is your contact point? Maybe you need to adjust it slightly forward or slightly back.
