Hi, I'm Jenny Duncalf, world no.2 and I'm going to take you through a shot that I like to play. It's a backhand volley fade across the middle of the court at the front.
I'll look for a ball that is just above head height and then cut down across it and just hit it above the tin, so it's fading across court with the second bounce around the middle of the court.
I will go for the nick as well but a lot of the time I like to use this shot as it tends to take your opponent by surprise. They'll expect you to go for the nick a lot of the time! To whip it across their body quickly and low down makes it hard for them to reach it.
