Watch this drill in the back of the court. I often find that very coached players can play a little bit too straight which becomes predictable. This drill allows you to practice a straight and a cross-court drive from the back.
It is a straight forward drill: one person hits drive, the second person hits drive and the first person then hits cross-court drive. It gets you into good habits of varying your shots and prevents predictability.
Note the length and width of the shots and the similarity in preparation disguising which shot they are going to play. Remember you will need to swap roles to play cross-courts from the other side.
