This is a tip for those of you who play people who try and return your serve by standing against the backhand wall and hitting a forehand shot.

You may think it better to hit away from them by hitting the ball down the centre of the court. This is high risk as you have a small margin to aim for to get the 'reward'. If you get it slightly wrong you will hit the ball straight onto their forehand or the other way hit OUT!

So what about lobbing it over them? Well similarly if you get it right they will struggle with the high ball. However it could go out of court so is it worth the risk?

A simple way to give them lots of problems is to hammer the ball in hard at the left side of their body (for right-handers). They are not going to have time to move their feet and play a backhand and they won't have room to play a good forehand either as the ball is tucked into the body and the back wall stops them from creating space. As a result they will quickly stop trying to run around their backhand and serving life returns to normal!
