Hi I'm Eddie Charlton and I'm going to be talking you through the high forehand cross-court push high volley.
I mainly use this shot when the ball has run away from me and I'm in a more defensive position. I strike the ball slightly behind me, hitting off my back leg having moved across the T line. I take the ball on the volley and push it up into the top part of the court to try and regain my position back on the T in front of my opponent.
The key point I want to make with this shot is play it with a lot of height to give yourself time to get that position back on the T. When played well it can force a boast out of the back corner from my opponent which gives me an attacking position in the front.
I have seen a lot of the top guys using it and how effective it is. It helps them to hold their position and the T line and is a very effective shot when played well!
