If you struggle to hit a consistent length from the front court, particularly from a boast then this is a great exercise for you.
Place a piece of tape half a metre up from the tin on both sides of the front wall. In a boast and drive routine aim to hit your drives on or just above the tape and see the effect this has on your length and your consistency. This works even when the ball loses pace as it just clips the side wall before reaching the length.
The exact position on the front wall to hit your shots will vary slightly depending on your court position and the pace you hit your drives. However you will develop a feel for the height on the front wall you need to hit your shot to get the ball past your opponent and make them turn and chase the ball into the back corner.
