Hitting inside the ball with her racket head lower than her wrist helps Jenny control her drops brilliantly.
• The strings bite into the ball enabling her to better control the pace and direction of the shot.
• This spin allows her to swing purposefully, without putting too much pace on the ball. Consequently, the disguise of the shot is excellent and Rachel doesn't know where it's going until too late.
• Hitting the ball in this way straightens it off the front wall helping her to get it tighter on the sidewall.
• This shot is also useful if you are slightly close to the ball which can often be the case with an opponent's loose shot.
