After you have served try looking for a straight return down the wall. If it is tight and you have to let it pass to the rear court then you have not lost anything. If it is slightly loose then you will be ready to volley it and take control of the rally or even win the point outright.

An astute opponent will pick this up after a while and vary their return but you will be surprised how many players will keep hitting it onto your racket. Winning these quick points will keep your score ticking over with only a bit of extra mental effort!
