In a previous clip we highlighted the importance of returning to the T backwards from the front court, so that you can move quicker to the next shot in whichever direction the ball goes. We can extend the theory for the back corners too.
After hitting from the rear court it is necessary to get ourselves facing the front wall as soon as possible, so again we are able to move in any direction as required. Any orientation towards the side or back wall will leave us vulnerable when moving to certain areas of the court. We may be able to reach the ball but it's possible we would get there late and off balance.
When playing from one foot in the back court, push back from the front foot and pivot on the rear foot to allow your body to face forward. From a two footed stance the pivot is less pronounced as you push from the back foot, and bring your front foot around.
This pivot then forward movement up the court will ensure the quickest and most efficient return to the T zone, and set you up to get on to the next ball.
