Here you are trying to get your drives to hit the back wall before they hit the floor.

This practice focuses your attention on the length you are hitting. If you can develop the control to continuously over-hit the ball then you should also have the control to hit to your normal good length targets. It adds variety and interest to your solo practice.

Hitting the ball in this way will improve your understanding of how it comes off the wall. It also encourages good early racket preparation, as you don't have too much time to react after the ball has hit the back wall.
