This solo exercise requires you to play alternate forehand and backhand shots against the side walls. You will need to hit the ball with enough height and pace to come back towards the centre court line after hitting the opposite side wall.

As your control improves try keep the ball closer to the back wall. Hitting the ball like this is similar to a full length straight drive from the front court. It is importing to keep adjusting your positioning to address your shots correctly. It is too easy to become static when doing solo practice.

It certainly tests your skill on a glass back court and hopefully you won't spend too much time retrieving the ball! It can happen to the best of us!

Better players can develop this routine further by hitting the ball off the back foot. The idea behind changing up your footwork is to practice playing the ball off either leg so that you are comfortable hitting the ball to a length in whatever position you find yourself on court. Also try alternating your feet with each shot or hitting off the same foot twice!
