This is a really simple and very effective speed drill. Find out why your dog gets so excited about playing fetch!
Get your partner to throw a ball at varying paces, heights and widths for you to catch and return to him or her. Some skill is needed in the feeding in order to challenge your partner's movement whilst still allow them to catch the ball before the bounce. This exercise can get you both working really hard. Keep going for 30 seconds and then swap over and gain revenge on your partner!
You can complete as many sets as you like, but 3 repetitions might be a good place to start. A progression from the basic exercise is to only use your racket hand to catch the ball.
As with most speed drills, it can be used in the final part of your warm up as well as in specific speed sessions.
