Here we are looking at what we call the two foot plant. That is playing off a base of two feet. Advnatages are that it is a strong solid position, it is good to get your weight through the ball and it's a stress free movement.

We might use it when the ball is slightly loose. If it is tight it is hard to get it off the wall, and also inefficient to move this far into the corner.

On a looser ball, the base afforded by the two foot plant, allows you to hit straight, lay off a boast or whip it cross court.

How do we do it? The important thing is left foot in followed by right, which gives you the rhythm to continue the swing and extend right through the ball.

Finally, you may find promoting your left foot slightly in front of the right aids your movement in and balance at the ball.
